Edinburgh Dungeons
The Edinburgh Dungeon invites you to delve into the capital’s most blood-curdling history. Live actors, two hair-raising rides, shows and special effects transport you back to those black, bleak times...are you brave enough?
Discover one of the most recent exhibits at Edinburgh Dungeon with Burke and Hare's Business of Murder! Edge your way through the darkness and tombstones of the murky burial ground and find yourself in the very gravest of situations. Feel the hairs rise on your neck and a chill run down your spine as two shadows move menacingly through the gloom…will you be Burke and Hare’s next donation to the medical profession?
Edinburgh Castle
Begin the day at Edinburgh Castle, Scotland's number one visitor attraction, which sits on its own volcanic rock at the top of the Royal Mile.
View the Scottish Crown Jewels, the delightful St Margaret’s Chapel, the Stone of Destiny on which previous Scottish Monarchs were crowned and many other historic buildings.
A recent addition is the re-development of the Queen Anne Building including a prisons of war experience. Proudly conspicuous yet strangely secretive, menacing but still homely and human, a defiant fortress which manages nevertheless to welcome and charm. Edinburgh Castle is a multitude of contrasts that harmonise perfectly. They have evolved into a genuine and magnetic personality that casts a spell on all who go there.
